She tells me
what I already know
for I have long been confused by his language
she tells me
that there are words
that cannot be understood
that we
as women
will stand before them
find them to be
empty mirrors
or things that cut
I say
" This is how I feel
about the word 'lust'
for I cannot separate it
from the word 'love'. "
