Alderley Edge
The cave where
Merlin kept his magic safe
is tucked under
this hill. All is green
and glowing in
summer glory; Manchester,
distant and
glittering, a promised land.
I could drink a case of you…. ringing
in my ears as I
run up the path,
past the cows ….and still I’d be on my feet.
past the cows ….and still I’d be on my feet.
This draft was
inspired by Rosemary Nissen-Wade’s ‘Somewhere,
Some Day’, (post #6) an engagement with a form of 55 words, including a reference
to a line from a tear-jerker song. The
song I have used is Joni Mitchell’s ‘Case of you’.
This knocks me off my feet with its verve!
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with this immediately – and then was thrilled to discover that one of my own drafts helped to inspire it. :)
