Mikaela Castledine #171 A Rapunzel Skipping Rhyme

A Rapunzel Skipping Rhyme

She’s mad she’s mad
and she’s locked up
she can’t have the scissors
because she might cut

But if she putting out
then the men might come
climbing up the ropen tresses
for a little bit of fun

Say belay belay
for a roll in the hay

She’s imprisoned in a tower
and she can’t get down
so she has to lure the strangers
when they gallop into town

Latching on with carabiners
plaiting footholds for each boot
they hope the strands will carry
and not pull out by the roots

It's true it's true
all she needs is a good screw

What goes up
must come down
standing in her window
lifting up her gown

She tumbles her hair in a
rope to the ground
and makes good her escape
with her mind unbound

Jumping on the Rapunzel bandwagon - hopefully taking a slightly different approach!

  1. I enjoyed your take on it, particularly when I chanted it like a skipping rhyme. One of my friends did one too, with the same title as mine (all unbeknownst to each other until afterwards) which I think is very funny. You might enjoy, if you care to go and see: http://inthecornerofmyeye.blogspot.com.au/2016/06/ferry-tails.html
