This Morning
Roar of wind breath
netted through trees
windows are groaning
against the onslaught
will anything hold
lights thread the valley
it is not yet dawn
along the veranda line
mobiles toss frantic
chimes intermingle
a clangour of bells
crows call question
and reply through the holes
of another rain soaked
day.

Powerfully described.
ReplyDeleteI love "lights thread the valley," and the question "will anything hold" captures the anxiety that high winds produce so beautifully.
