the idea of a female aesthetic
isn’t that appealing
you don’t want to put yourself
in a straitjacket
but I looked at Yasmina’s hats
more like objects
curly pointy things
delicate gardens
that use the head
as a pedestal
and Chantal’s installation
with wispy sheets of plastic
over lights
and a video of water projected
on curved surfaces
both seemed like the work of the feminine
but I can’t say why
but I can’t say why
exactly
seemed like a delicate touch
like an offer
not a demand
like singing
(referring to 2 shows - Winged Creatures by Yasmina Black at The Shop Gallery, Reading to the River by Chantal Grech at Articulate Project Space)

so succinct so expressive very spruce Anna.
ReplyDeletethat's it! like an offer
ReplyDeletenot a demand
like singing yeah, absolutly!
The touch of a fine hand - both artist/s and poet. I also love the last three lines - that is it indeed.
