even at home
there's no way of escaping
the skeletons in my closet
there's always a loose bone to pick
or even worse loose lips
so many secrets, so many lies
it's a wonder a pure heart like mine
ever survived.
envy is a vile poison...
(at least you can choose your friends)
family can be a mind-fuck
and even after all the years of therapy
their lies can still rattle these bones.

ReplyDeleteresearching the title to give credit to James Weldon Johnson was a hoot led me to the book of Ezekiel...one of the themes was purity. A great cleansing to be had my friend:-)
