Rob Schackne #42 - "Houston, Houston..."

"Houston, Houston ..."

Biologists found the secret of life
Physics found the key to the universe
I slip getting out of the shower

Now that I've got a sore neck
The universe looks a little different

Obviously my life's still on the skids

The 4th most beautiful woman on Earth
(Actually a Miss Universe runner-up)
Well-spoken, smart, tall, no make-up

She's a student in my language class
And she wonders how in other galaxies
The next Miss Universe is judged

The dim secrets of everything
Walk their superstitious rounds
(It will be modesty puts our selves first)

And I start to see the parallel worlds
As clearly as my own two feet, now
Near the exit they go in the same direction

(Might be a feature, might be a bug)
Behind us, child, is the great bazaar
And a drone of universal confusion

Is knowledge really the incandescent one?
Is beauty ever a shield rubbed raw
That hides the other side of night?
