Barbara Temperton #18 - Crow

   Highway casualty
   kowtows to broken white line,
   feathers flare all ways.

  1. That 'kowtow' is just the right word in the right place.

  2. For some reason I am seeing crow poems all over, lately (not only here).

Oh, we know that sight you describe (sadly). The picture is superb.

  3. Thank you, Rosemary, for your comment on the image ... I'm pretty thrilled about it, being a keen but amateur photographer and only having Lightroom L-Plates. It's the first time I've worked an image up to this degree. Yes, crows are popular ... not a first for me, either ... my poem "My Mother's Ravens" appeared in ABR's States of Poetry recently. If you fancy reading another crow poem, it's at: https://www.australianbookreview.com.au/poetry/states-of-poetry/states-of-poetry-western-australia/180-states-of-poetry-western-australia/3214-states-of-poetry-western-australia-my-mother-s-ravens-by-barbara-temperton
