Three sheets to the wind
my mother starts to say
making my thoughts stray
to the clothspins made of wood
and to clothes-props,
fence palings, more often than not
When a girl was married from home
not all naked
look at this one!
I touch her paper arm, gentle
thin skin thick hide
hush mother hush
until the organ stops come out
