Kit Kelen #166 - winter haiku/senryu

166
winter haiku/senryu

my favourite tree
is two
a twining

I consider not writing down
the first thing that comes into my head
but decide against it

where is soil from?
where did rain go?
who drinks deepest towers over

effort of building garden
makes foolish old man
remove mountain

he knows he could remove himself
from the postcard view
but thinks better of that

the frogs go off
like firecrackers
they've never heard of rain

the emptying of the mind
is an option and a meditation essential
he has a little think

in the dry
pick up sticks
tonight is a fire

bath is not getting any warmer
instant immersion
is suggested

so much waking
and still dark
then chase the dream that's gone

cold miracle of day again
revelation
of first light

  1. I realy like this piece, Kit. The last stanza especially "cold miracle of day again ..."
The image is perfect - blue seeping into dawn sky.

  2. I like the quietness and the sly humour in these.
