On first seeing the title, I expected an abecedarian poem – only to be treated to this lovely succinctness, which itself opens the crack in my consciousness, tantalising as to what treasure might be discovered.
abecedarian is a word I found in a book. And I think abracadabra is a totally wonderful word. I don't know if either of these count as nonsense words. Happy to know what others think.
"Like a rock / sliding open" is wonderful. Like a resurrection.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was thinking of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves which was where I first heard the wonderful word abracadabra as a child.
ReplyDeleteAh yes! :-)

ReplyDeleteI just saw and heard the crack! Love it!
ReplyDeleteNice one. I was thinking the same thing when I read this, Sue. It's good to reveal the treasure in/through the power of nonsense words. :)
